Caroline Straathof is the founder of IR Inside.

At IR Inside, Caroline is strategic advisor in investor and media communications with client company top executives, and practical & coaching support for investor relations officers.

She pioneered the corporate Investor Relations profession in China. Caroline joined one of the Internet forerunners Sohu.com, before its initial public offering on NASDAQ in 2000. At Sohu.com she served as Director of Investor Relations for nearly six years.

Caroline has worked in Beijing for 20 years, and speaks and reads Chinese. She enjoys a wide network of relations with the international financial community, business media, and corporate executives in China, the United States and Europe. She started her career as a foreign correspondent for Dutch television news program NOS Journaal and the daily de Volkskrant based in Beijing. While in journalism, Caroline also contributed articles to various international publications including the International Herald Tribune, South China Morning Post, and Business China (a unit of Economist Intelligence Unit).

Caroline holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University Paul A. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, a Master of Arts in Modern History from University of Amsterdam and a Graduate Diploma from Smith College.
